Celler Pujol Cargol
The winery is located in the centre of the village of Masarac, a village that is so small there is not even a bakery and where the fishmongers distribute their wares using a van, like in the 1970s. Our winery, formerly an old sheep shed, totally blends in with its surroundings and with the existing buildings of the village, mainly built of stone.
After total renovation, we have installed an inlet line for the grapes, as well as wine tanks to extract the maximum essence from the grapes for our wines. The winery also has a resting room, where our wines rest before they are sold.
Our work philosophy
Celler Pujol Cargol’s work philosophy is influenced by Northern Catalonia and David’s training at the Vignoble de Bordeaux (in Saint-Émilion), so we have a French style of production; in other words, we respect the integrity of the grapes in the cellar as far as possible, without interfering too much in the production and using gentle forms of extraction.
We work with, care for and respect native varieties such as white, red and black Garnacha, Macabeo, and white, red and black Cariñena to the best of our abilities, aiming to obtain maximum expression in our wines and take into account the land they are from.
