The Celler Pujol Cargol vineyards are located where the Empordà plain and the Albera mountain range meet, about 85 metres above sea level. Although most of the vineyards are located in Masarac, the plots are scattered across four different municipal districts: Masarac, Sant Climent Sescebes, Capmany and Mollet de Peralada.
Celler Pujol Cargol owns 20 hectares of vineyards, but manages about 50 in total.
As the years go by and we adapt to modern times, there are up to 16 different grape varieties in our vineyards.
Our winemaking team has recently become aware of the environmental problems the planet is experiencing, so we are working towards more sustainable grape production. Our origins lie in conventional viticulture, but for some 10 years now we have taken a turn towards organic and sustainable winegrowing.
For us it is very important that the person drinking our wines can be certain that they have passed all the necessary quality controls and standards needed to guarantee each bottle and express the highest quality.
Our winegrowing process is governed by the Empordà Designation of Origin (DO Empordà) and combines two types of production, that of the Catalan Council of Integrated Production (CICC) and that of the Catalan Council for Organic Production (CCPAE).
